Gwa’sala-Nakwaxda’xw Nations Bighouse (Gukwdzi) Port Hardy, BC
Located in the Gwa’sala-Nakwaxda’xw community, this Bighouse was developed as a cultural gathering place designed to honour traditions while supporting modern community needs. The building incorporates large-scale timber construction and traditional forms inspired by local heritage and Indigenous knowledge.

Island Health – Mobile CT Scanner Port Hardy Hospital, BC
Completed in December 2023, this project improved critical healthcare access on North Vancouver Island by installing a state-of-the-art mobile CT scanner on a purpose-built pad at Port Hardy Hospital. Previously, residents had to travel long distances for diagnostic imaging. With this project, local families now receive care closer to home, a meaningful enhancement to community health infrastructure.

Kwa’lilas Hotel Renovation Port Hardy, BC
A landmark project with deep community significance, the Kwa’lilas Hotel transformation reimagines the former Port Hardy Inn as a premier destination that honours the heritage of the Gwa’sala-’Nakwaxda’xw Nations. Fully owned and operated by the Nation, the hotel blends cultural storytelling and modern hospitality, and serves as a gateway for visitors to connect with Indigenous culture, history, and eco-tourism experiences rooted in the spirit of Northern Vancouver Island.

Ha’Me Restaurant & Kitchen Renovation Kwa’lilas Hotel Port Hardy, BC
This renovation project modernized the heart of the Kwa’lilas Hotel, its kitchen, reinforcing hospitality capacity in support of local tourism and service excellence. The scope included electrical, mechanical, plumbing upgrades, and interior finishes, all executed with minimal disruption to hotel operation by conducting work during off-peak hours.

749 School Road – Supportive Housing Project Gibsons, BC
A three-story supportive housing development comprising 40 self-contained studio units that include access to on-site support services for residents experiencing or at risk of homelessness. This project demonstrates KCC’s ability to deliver complex, socially impactful infrastructure that meets community needs while supporting long-term well-being.

Columbia Court, Port Hardy, BC
Columbia Court is a 10-unit townhouse development in Port Hardy, British Columbia, built to house Island Health doctors and nurses supporting the upcoming Port Hardy Hospital redevelopment. Each two-bedroom unit is approximately 1,100 sq. ft., providing functional, purpose-built accommodation for essential healthcare staff. Developed from 2021 through to construction in 2024, the project strengthens local healthcare infrastructure by supporting workforce needs in the region.
